The Using Technology Trilogy series is full
of fresh, timely information tailored to your organizational needs. The Trilogy
demystifies the buzz words, technologies and implementation process. It's
entertaining, informative, and actionable. The goal is to help you DO things,
not just to know about technology. Select one, two or all three, in any order.
Part 1: Technology Triage
Are the supply chain technologies like bar
code, e-commerce and warehouse and enterprise management systems treatments that
can save your company? On the battlefield of business there are many valiant
soldiers/companies. But since every day has been and will be a battle, everyone
is among the "walking wounded". Some wounds are obvious but not, if
cared for, fatal. On the other hand, some of our troops are mortally wounded
but, displaying uncommon valor, crawl ever forward only ultimately to succumb.
Who can be saved? How can you tell? What should be done first? Why?
This session will help you identify the nature
of overhead, market share and margin wounds and the effectiveness of the
technology treatment on each. You'll only be a medic, not a doctor, but you will
know what to do immediately and how to explain the condition to the MASH unit.
Part 2: The Implementation Game
With technology advancing and business changes
driven by market shifts it's a new game every day …. But it's the only game in
town! Getting new systems or equipment installed, up and running is not child's
play. But like any game there are rules and there are penalties. And most
importantly, the more successful you are, the more you like to play. Don't over
look the fact that those who don't understand the game don't like to play and
tend to "spoil the fun". The "spoil sports" are the people
you work with every day. So you need to not only know the game but how to teach
others how to play.
In this highly interactive session you will
actually build the, Monopoly ™ like, game board and learn the relationships of
all the segments that make it up. You'll find out why you must take the first
step first and the penalties of trying to "cheat" and skip a space.
Part 3: The Dean's List with
all D's
You've done a technology triage on your
company and you understand the implementation game now you must make something
happen. It's your job turn a desire to survive and a will to win into a clear
course. Not a course of pure study, but rather a course of action. You're the
professor in the learning laboratory. But you are not there to teach you are
there to learn, lead and act. You will do this with classmates who you will take
to the deans list with all D's. (define, design, develop, deploy)
This session will take you down into the
details (yuck) that are often overlooked. The good news (yeh) is that the
details are presented in such a way that they become a natural method to bring
the operational benefits of new technology and concepts to your company.
